Studio Artist Application
Fayetteville Underground, Inc is a not-for-profit corporation made up
of dedicated people, who support the arts in their community. One very
important function of the organization is to provide studio spaces and
gallery representation to career artists living and working in North West Arkansas.
Artists who wish to be considered for a studio and Vault Gallery representation at the Fayetteville Underground should submit an application
containing the materials below and mail or deliver the application materials
to the Fayetteville Underground.
The Artist Advisory Committee, made up of three artists currently holding studios in the building review applications at their monthly meetings and advise the Executive Director as to whether or not an artist should be eligible for studio space and gallery representation. Approval is not a guarantee of space, as studio space is limited and allocated as available and there may be a waiting list at certain times.
Studio and Vault Gallery Representation Application:
- Representative sample of work: This should be a minimum of 10 and maximum of 20 pieces completed within the last 2 years and should be submitted as high quality digital photographic files (300 dpi, 2100 pixels in larger dimension, maximum 2 MB file size as .jpg, .tiff, or pdf)on a CD, each image should include a description of size, title, medium, artist name and approximate. sale price. Unless requested otherwise (and supplied with a postage paid mailer), CDs will not be returned.
- Resume or CV including education, exhibition history, web site, and current gallery representation.
- Two professional references.
- A brief cover letter/business plan explaining why you think you will be a good fit for the organization, an artist statement and a brief summary of your career and business plan for the next two years. In the letter, please also indicate that if applying for studio space you will be willing to show your work in the Underground gallery exclusively in North West Arkansas and that you will be able and willing to provide a minimum of 4 hours per week of volunteer work for the Underground.
- Mail or Deliver to the Fayetteville Underground.
Visiting Exhibition Artist Application:
Artist who wish to be considered for representation by the Hive or Revolver Gallery of the Fayetteville Underground should submit an application containing all the materials included within the Studio and Vault Gallery application with the exception of #4 --- include a brief cover letter describing the concept of the exhibition (group) or an artist statement (individual), a working title for the exhibition, special installation requirements, if any and desired exhibition date.
